Who is Stephen Hay?
Stephen Hay is a consultant who works with organisations grappling with today’s challenge of having to do more with less, helping his clients build tomorrow’s companies.
He started life in Motueka, New Zealand before moving at the tender age of eight to the equally large town of Myrtleford, Victoria, Australia. Significantly, Motueka has grown while Myrtleford has not. Stephen left the latter at the age of 16 to pursue a career in the Royal Australian Navy…
After studying for a Surveying degree, and having it awarded, he practiced the arcane art of hydrographic surveying before teaching it at the Hydrographic School at HMAS Penguin situated near Balmoral Beach in Sydney. Several years spent back at university and working in the field with the Red Cross saw him in Geneva where the seeds of his current occupation were sown.
He helps build tomorrow’s service organisations out of today’s…
Independently and through his consulting firm, People and Process Limited, he has attracted as clients and worked on consulting assignments with organisations as diverse as: the International Committee of the Red Cross, Telecom Fiji, the New Zealand Ministry of Health, the Queensland Departments of Health and Housing, Learning Lab Denmark, the Queensland Investment Corporation, Fosters Corporation, the University of New South Wales, the New Zealand Institute of Environmental Science and Research and the New Zealand Defence Force.
Stephen’s career has allowed him to live and work in eight different countries and visit a further 25. He currently lives in Wellington, New Zealand with his French wife and their two children.
Stephen holds an MBA from the Theseus Institute in France and a Certificate in Company Direction from the NZ Institute of Directors, of which he is a member.
